MEDP on Mushroom Cultivation
A Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) on mushroom cultivation, organized by RGVN supported by NABARD in association with Navoday Foundation started from 27/01/2023 in Kawli which will conclude on 10/02/2023.
Addressing the gathering RGVN’s Executive Director Dr. Amiya Sharma highlighted on some of the schemes of NABARD, such as rural mart, rural haat, sponsoring artisans/SHG members for exhibitions and melas etc. He encouraged the trainees to actively start up their enterprises with supports from bank.
Concerned Professionals explained the history of mushrooms, varieties and its nutritional properties, commercial value, identification of poisonous mushroom, spawn production, and cylinder preparation particularly for oyster mushrooms, followed by a demonstration. They also emphasized the scope and importance of mushroom cultivation that would enhance the socio–economic status of rural masses, especially women entrepreneurs.
The training programme has been arranged in such a way that women attendees could start their own ventures in the above mentioned income generating activity.
