World No Tobacco Day 31st May, 2022 (Byrnihat, Meghalaya)
A conscientization program was organized for a children’s club and school childrens comprising of 13-18 years of age on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day.
Adolescents are more likely to initiate tobacco use if they lack the awareness of tobacco and industry related tactics deliberately employed to hook them on tobacco products. Adolescents may try some form of tobacco or nicotine products when offered as a result of direct peer pressure, influenced by advertising, promotion and sponsorship, or simply as a result of not being equipped with the knowledge or skills to refuse it.
The children drew graffiti’s on walls highlighting not to use tobacco products. They also vowed never to smoke and consume any type of tobacco products in their lives. It is the right age for raising awareness about these issues, as youth is the future of any country. We are pleased to impart the harmful and negative impacts of tobacco use to these youths.
