A skill upgradation and inauguration of loom donation programme in the field of Handloom and Weaving was organized recently in Pijupara under Kamrup District where all the stakeholders were present. Such programmes helps the local artisans to improvise their products by applying modern technology instead of only focussing on the traditional methods.

Skill upgradation helps stimulate dormant clusters by enhancing productivity with the help of technology which increases competitiveness among weavers. Skill knowledge is one of the key components for the sustenance of one’s livelihood and also boosts the economy of the country.

We as an Implementing Agency are optimistic that such trainings would make women economically independent. Considering the unemployment issue such initiatives would ease and open up opportunities to become self dependent and self sufficient.
