Pre Kharif Workshop was conducted in the five targeted districts of Darrang, Baksa, Barpeta, Goalpara and Dhubri in the last week of July and 1st week of August 2022 in collaboration with the District Agriculture Department, Krishi Vigyan Kendra of every district, SCS College of Agriculture (AAU).

Training on best management practices of Sali paddy was given by resource person from KVK and SCS College of Agriculture (AAU, Dhubri). The workshop was inaugurated in the presence of District Agriculture Officer, Sub divisional Agriculture Officer and Head of KVK. In Goalpara, Shri Ranjit Konwar (ADC), was present in the session. A total of 186 trainees were trained in the five districts and the participants were Sr ADOs, ADOs, BTM, ATM, AAI and AEA.

The workshop was intended to help the extension functionaries in training the farmers with the best management practice for the ongoing sali paddy cultivation. Discussion on scope for cultivating Finger millets (Ragi) and importance of climate smart agriculture and natural farming was also discussed in the training.
