A State Level Inception Workshop on Agriculture Development under Aspirational District Programme was organized by NITI Aayog and ITC Mission – ‘Sunehra Kal’ at Assam Administrative Staff College, Guwahati yesterday.

The Aspirational District Programme is a maiden initiative led by Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji to transform more than 100 most under-developed districts effectively. 7 out of these districts- Darrang, Dhubri, Barpeta, Goalpara, Baksa, Udalguri & Hailakandi- fall under Assam.

Distinguished Guests Honorable Minister of Agriculture, Assam Shri Atul Bora, Lt. Col. Updesh Sharma (Joint Advisor)-Aspirational District Programme, Dr. Amiya Kr. Sharma (Executive Director)-RGVN, Deputy Directors of RGVN, Shri K. Binoy (Regional Manager)-ITC Limited, Dr. Ramani Kanta Thakuria (Director)-Open & Distant Learning-AAU, Agriculturists and Subject Matter Specialists were present during the workshop.

It was a preparation of many weeks and hard work of many people involved under the project which came into fruition yesterday. We are very grateful to the organizers and are determined to implement the project successfully unto completion.
